There are two main types of assessments: Personality and Attitudinal.
A Bit of Background on Assessments
Personality based assessments, such as Myers Briggs and D.I.S.C. are very valuable tools that pinpoint certain personality types so that people can better understand their strengths and weaknesses.
By understanding your personality and how it relates to what you do, you can successfully implement a “work with what you have” mentality and therefore function more effectively.
The E.L.I., on the other hand, is an attitudinal assessment, which is based on an energy/action model. This assessment differs from personality assessments as it is not intended to label a person and have them work well within that label.
Instead, it measures your leadership attitudes based on your unique perspective and world perceptions. Because attitude is subjective, it can be altered. Coaching utilizes the E.L.I. to increase leaders’ awareness so they can reshape their attitudes and perspectives so to increase their leadership effectiveness.
